Baritone Music Alphabet

In order to learn from written materials, we usually have to be able to read. And in order to read we need to begin with an alphabet.

 

I first began playing my grandmother's piano when I was about four. I could play by listening to the songs she played on her record player. When I began school, I had piano lessons. But they didn't last long as I couldn't read music. I had actually decided that it was a waste of time as I could already play everything I wanted to. And I was lazy, a necessary evolutionary trait 😊

 

Many, many years later, I taught myself to read music. If I could start my life over, I'd tell my younger self that in order to become the best that I could be, I would need to learn the language of music. Knowledge is power.

 

In order to tune your baritone ukulele, you should already know at least four notes of the 12-note alphabet 😁
